Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator with expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to join our technology-based program supporting a key Government customer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our customer's application infrastructure in support of this customer's mission, ensuring the smooth operation of all systems within the Cloud environment, and leveraging AWS technologies to optimize performance and scalability. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and maintain the customer's cloud infrastructure, including EC2 Instances, networks, and cloud services 
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot application hosting services 
  • Monitor system performance and audits to ensure data integrity and protection
  • ollaborate with internal teams to identify technical requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Implement best practices for backup, disaster recovery, and system redundancy
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in cloud computing and IT systems administration 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:   

  • We are actively seeking systems engineers with a networking background with a minimum of 11 years' experience.

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degrees are preferred in one or more of the disciplines described below where specific skills may include the following:  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Broad understanding of technical principles, theories and concepts in the Systems Administrator field with Linux based systems

  • Strong understanding of applying network engineering concepts, protocols, and security best practices for an application hosting environment 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking and attention to detail 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or BashExperience with a wide variety of Cloud technologies and solutions architectures is a plus (AWS, Google, Azure, Oracle etc) 
  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, with a focus on troubleshooting application hosting environments  
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art systems engineering principles and applying SecDevOps in a cloud hosted environmentAWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) preferred but not required
